Our founding team consists of three members, representing a diverse range of expertise and experience. 

Gediz Karaca, MSc, MBA, our Chief Executive Officer, has more than 8 years of mega-project construction management experience and has led the development of over $1bn of assets- including the development of complex engineering projects including water supply systems, subway stations, skyscrapers and bridges. He is a civil and geological engineer by training and holds an MSc in Construction and Engineering Management from Bo─čaziçi University and an MBA degree from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.

Professor Peter Ireland, FIMech. E, our Chief Science Officer, is a Statutory Professor at the University of Oxford where he holds the Donald Schultz Chair in Turbomachinery and is Head of the Oxford Thermofluids Institute.  The Institute includes more than a hundred researchers working on a broad portfolio of engineering research and development projects. Peter is an acknowledged expert in the field of turbomachinery and heat transfer and has invented over 20 key engineering technologies with his teams, primarily for use in jet engines and propulsion. He leads the Odqa development team, working with three of his leading post-doctoral research fellows.

Ahmed Refaat, MBA, our Chief Technological Officer, is a mechanical engineer who worked for more than 8 years for the world’s largest oilfield services company, Schlumberger, as Lead Engineer - managing and delivering state-of-the-art engineering operations.   Ahmed was promoted to be the Key Account Manager, contracting millions of dollars worth of products and services, during which time he gathered extensive experience in advanced engineering product and business development. In Odqa, Ahmed runs product development, commercialisation as well as business and industry relations. Ahmed holds an MBA degree from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
